Content Director, Utility Week

The Utility Week Awards are back – and this year, we’ll be celebrating virtually, with a show stopping ceremony. We’ll be celebrating the outstanding achievements of utilities in keeping the UK connected throughout the coronavirus outbreak, recognising the hard work of companies, teams and individuals to maintain resilient essential services in exceptionally challenging circumstances, especially for vulnerable customers and communities.

We have introduced some new categories to reflect the specific challenges utilities have faced in 2020 – and also welcome entrants to include their efforts in coping with the coronavirus outbreak in any other relevant category. The changes also reflect the growing need for utilities to play a leading role in the UK’s ambition to tackle climate change and become a net zero emissions economy by 2050 or sooner.

This year, for one year only, we’re moving from our usual December slot and will be celebrating the 2020 awards in February 2021.

Our virtual ceremony will bring the industry together at a time when face to face contact is limited – and we have a few surprises in store too! Guests can choose to host a virtual table, or simply register to watch the ceremony for free.

Utility Week uses 100% recyclable displays at events.

These display solutions are sustainable with no waste going to landfill. You are able to promote your sustainable policies and save money compared to traditional metal and plastic displays. These 100% recyclable printed cardboard displays are ideally suited to both event organisers and exhibitors. The displays are great value, offer eye-catching creative shapes, can be self-installed, re-used and then at the end of their useful lives be disposed of via a cardboard recycling service. Sustainable exhibiting, what’s not to like?
